Romy-June Ralph is an accomplished educator and visual artist with a rich history of working in Queensland’s primary education sector.
With a passion for both pedagogy and the arts, Romy brings a unique blend of creativity, leadership, and academic excellence to her work in the classroom and beyond.
A graduate of Griffith University with a Bachelor of Education (First Class Honours), Romy is a dedicated education professional known for her strengths in curriculum development, leadership, and arts integration. Her skills in drawing, painting, and fine art deeply inform her teaching philosophy, which celebrates creativity as a cornerstone of student engagement and learning.
Romy is a graduate of the Aspire to Lead program, a prestigious initiative supporting high-performing educators on their leadership journeys. She has confidently stepped into acting principal roles when required, demonstrating her ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and capability.
Currently, Romy teaches lower primary while pursuing a Doctor of Creative Arts at the University of Southern Queensland—a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and artistic exploration.
In 2023, Romy was elected Secretary of Art Education Australia (AEA), the national peak body for visual arts education, serving a term through to 2025. In this role, she advocated for the transformative power of visual arts in education and contributed to the national dialogue on creative curriculum design.
Romy’s professional journey is a vibrant tapestry woven with leadership, scholarship, and a deep love for the visual arts.
